Join Father Tony Lickteig on Saturday, May 17

Father Tony Lickteig will be celebrating the archdiocesan monthly pro-life Mass on Saturday, May 17. Mass is at 8:00 am at Sts. Cyril & Methodius, 44 N. Mill, Kansas City, Ks. Immediately following Mass is a rosary procession to the abortion clinic approximately 4 blocks away. Eucharistic adoration is available for those not processing. Benediction concludes services by 9:45 am. Please join in this prayerful, peaceful witness to life.


The Cure' of Ars Bereavement Ministry will have their monthly grief support meeting, Saturday, May 17, in the Father Burak room, 9401 Mission Rd., Leawood, beginning at 8:30 a m, after the 8 o'clock Mass. The topic will be, "Memories and Memorials." For more information call 913-649-2026.


A Mass with prayers for healing, sponsored by Archdiocesan Charismatic prayer groups, will be at 7:30 p m, Thursday, May 22, at Cure' of Ars, 9401 Mission Rd., Leawood, KS. The Catholic Lawyers Guild of Kansas City welcomes all attorneys, legal professionals, law students, and professors to join us on Friday, May 23 for our Morning Mass and Breakfast Lecture, “American Catholics Who Participated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution,” by Msgr. ARCHBISHOP NAUMANN TO DEDICATE NEW VETERANS MEMORIAL on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, during Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 83rd and Quivira Rd., Lenexa, Kan. 8:30 a.m.—flag-raising, National Anthem and 21-gun salute; 9:00 a.m.—Mass, blessing and dedication of the Veterans Memorial with monuments and flags representing the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. The 41st annual Clinic of Champions Basketball Camp, under the direction of Mark Nusbaum, Head Basketball of the Rockhurst Hawklets, will be conducted in three sessions at Rockhurst High School, 9301 State Line Road. The first session will be June 2-5, and the second session will be June 9-12. The third session is an advanced camp and will be June 16-19. The first two sessions will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and will be open to boys, ages 8-15. The advanced third session will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and will be open to boys completing grades 6, 7, 8, or 9 in June 2008. A Prayer Vigil for the Feast of the Sacred Heart will be celebrated on Thursday, May 29 at St. Joseph's Parish, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS at 7:00 p.m. The Prayer Vigil will include the Rosary, Vespers, Act of Reparation, Litany of the Sacred Heart and Chaplet of the Sacred Heart. Guatemala Medical Mission

Curé of Ars is sending its annual 6th Medical Mission team to Guatemala June 17- 24.

  • The team is interested in adding a pharmacist, an optometrist, more nurses and a few medical assistants to its ranks.
  • The cost of the trip well be $1,200.00 for all travel expenses, which includes two days of touring in Guatemala.
  • Nominal donations to support a scholarship fund for team members with limited funds would be greatly appreciated.

Bishop Miege Track and Field / Cross Country Clinic—During the five-day camp, athletes will learn hurdles, high jump, javelin, shot put, discus, long and triple jumping, race strategy, endurance training, weight training, flexibility, nutrition and rest and recovery methods. The clinic is led by Miege track and field coach Scott Anderson and Miege cross country coach Alan Thomas.


Gift Bazaar (formerly St Joseph Ladies Guild Craft Fair)

Vendors wanted for the Ladies Guild Gift Bazaar being held on Saturday, October 25 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in McDevitt Hall at St. Joseph Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS.
