Sacred Heart Job Club/ Kansas City Metro Networking Job Club

What We Do: In partnership with the Kansas City Star and founded by Maureen Reintjes this online networking and support group is open to all those experiencing job loss or in a career transition in the Kansas City metro area. Due to the success of the online job club Sacred Heart's onsite job club will only meet if a speaker is brought in. If you are a job seeker and would like a one-on-one meeting to jump start your search please contact Maureen Reintjes.
Whom We Serve: We serve anyone experiencing a job loss or a career transition in the Kansas City metro area.
Training: Minimal training to help assist online supporting job seekers and posting job opportunities. Must have Internet access and be somewhat familiar with social networking.
Time Commitment: As little or as much time as you can volunteer; entirely up to the volunteer. All volunteer work done from the comfort of your own home.

Kansas City Metro Networking Job Club has become a great place to network! As of April 2012 there are currently over 2,488 members on the Ning job club site: Kansas City Metro Networking Job Club. This site has been observed by the Department of Labor and has had media exposure not only from The Kansas City Star but also the New York Times who has run front page Sunday edition articles using members from the site. A favorite part of this social networking job club with jobseekers is that employers often have their open positions posted on the site.

 

As of April 2012 there are over 1,235 members on our LinkedIn group: Kansas City Metro Networking Job Club. The LinkedIn site provides an additional way for job seekers to network and has a job board that contains many job postings.

 

The Twitter feed is very active with companies and news media following the tweets.
