Council
2408 was founded in Bonner Springs, Kansas. We are associated with the Sacred
Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, which has deep roots in this area dating back
to 1871. Sacred Heart was formerly located in Bonner Springs until a fire in 1996 caused
heavy damage to the small church on the SW corner of Insley and Allcutt
streets. A decision was made not to rebuild
on the property in Bonner Springs and the parish was moved across the Kansas
River to our current location at the corner of Johnson Drive and Monticello
Road. We are located approximately
½ mile East of K-7 highway on Johnson drive or approximately 3 miles West of
I-435 on Johnson Drive.

Our monthly council meetings occur
the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30pm. Any change to this schedule will be announced in the
church bulletin. Meetings are
usually held in the large conference rooms on the South end (narthex) of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus church building at 5501 Monticello Road in Shawnee, KS
Council
2408 was chartered on November 12, 1922. Due to economic conditions, the council became
inactive. The Council was
re-chartered in November of 1989 with our first meeting held November 15th. The council continues to grow in
membership and currently has close to 100 members.
