10-27-2022Renovation

Greetings Sacred Heart - As we start week seven of our Church Enhancement Project, I want to provide you an update of the many things going on with the enhancement.

Main Nave Ceiling: All wiring has been pulled for the new pendant lights and holes have been cut, trimmed out and patched to accommodate the speakers that will now be recessed. The main ceiling will be painted and should begin on Monday, October 24, 2022.

Sanctuary Ceiling: The ceiling tiles have been removed and repainted.

Lighting: The up-lighting (large sconces on perimeter) have been removed and patched.

Sanctuary Wall:

  • The Pilasters have been created (to include back lighting along the vertical)
  • The frame of the woodwork around the Sacred Heart window has been installed and the finish trim work has been completed as of this past Friday.
  • The Eucharistic Alcove (where the tabernacle used to reside) has been created.
  • The painter will begin work on the Sanctuary wall which will take several weeks once he begins.

Niches: The niches now have a curved wall instead of the angular back. The Niches were then heavily textured and painted the same blue as the Sanctuary ceiling tiles.

Stained Glass Windows:

  • Window above the Baptistery: design rendering has been completed.
  • Sanctuary wall: an updated design for the windows is being reviewed by the committee

As you can see, a lot going on! We are so grateful for the amazing team we have in place to help this project come to life. Praise be to God.
