For the week of June 22:

• Johnson Drive WEST entrance – WILL BE CLOSED for about 4 weeks
• Johnson Drive EAST entrance will serve as BOTH entry and exit – PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS and drive SLOWLY in and out
• Please continue to use the Preschool exterior door entrance to access Adoration Chapel. Be mindful of Chapel closures throughout the week.

Next week’s construction happenings:

• Adoration Chapel moving to temporary location (Cry Room) - Entry will be from the Preschool exterior doors (lower level of church)
• Temporary fencing placed around Johnson Dr Circle Dr (only one drive lane open- entrance only!!)
• Temporary wall will go up inside hallway of Church
• Site demo begins
• Construction work begins in both basements

Construction Project Logistics & Updates

The week of June 15 will be the official start date for our Phase 1 construction project!!  Thank you for your generosity as we continue to put hearts on a collision course with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.   Below are the main updates and logistics to help everyone navigate campus safely and smoothly.

General Construction Hours (Monday–Friday)

• Church construction: generally between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• School construction: generally between 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Deliveries: typically between 8:00 am – 2:45 pm

Please note: some trades may begin earlier or work later depending on scheduling.

Great news!

On Wednesday, April 22, we received Archdiocesan approval and blessing to move forward with our construction projects—an exciting milestone for our parish!

The very next day, Thursday, April 23, we sent out our official bid package. The bidding process will take about three weeks, with responses expected by May 18.

We also received permission to submit our permit application to the City of Shawnee, which was completed on April 23. That process is expected to take approximately 30–45 days.

Progress on Phase 1 Projects:

• 100% complete on Design Development documents.
• Updated exterior renderings and pencil drawings of each project can be found on our website on the “capital campaign” page!
• City of Shawnee Planning Commission: received approval on our site plan on March 16

I can hardly believe January is over and we are half-way through February! Things are moving quickly, and I am excited to share all that has happened since the beginning of 2026.

Progress on Phase 1 Projects

• Weekly meetings continue with Clark Architects, Straub Construction, and engineering consultants as we move from schematic design to design development to construction documents.
• Coordination with Archdiocesan staff to ensure all Archdiocesan requirements are met.

Many thanks again to everyone who participated in our recent Feasibility Study. We have reached out to the Chancery to share the findings and are just waiting to hear back from them on a potential meeting date.

Over the past ten months, we have prayerfully listened and discerned, gathering insights from surveys, focus groups, and town hall meetings. Through this process, we’ve sought to understand your hopes and desires, while also reflecting on how we can use our 16-acre campus as faithful stewards of God’s gifts.

The Facility Master Plan Committee is excited to announce that the master plan for the entire Sacred Heart of Jesus campus is complete! Many hours of meetings and prayer went into the development of the plan, and we look forward to presenting it to the parish soon!
