Why Tithe?

At Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish and School, tithing is more than just giving — it’s an act of faith, gratitude, and mission. It connects us to something greater than ourselves and helps us live as faithful stewards of God’s many blessings.

1. A grateful way to order our lives

All we have — our time, our talents, our treasures — comes from God. Tithing is our way of saying thank you and giving back to the One who has given us everything. It’s a spiritual discipline that reminds us that God comes first in our lives.

2. Investing in the Mission

When you give to Sacred Heart, you’re not just funding operations — you’re feeding our mission. Every gift helps us form disciples, offer faith formation for all ages, serve our neighbors, and bring Christ’s love to our community through the practice of our faith and the five foundation stones.

3. An Act of Trust and Faith

Tithing is not always easy — but it’s an invitation to trust that God will provide. By giving back a portion of our income, we put our faith in God’s care and deepen our reliance on Him, not on material wealth.

4. Rooted in Scripture and Tradition

Tithing is firmly rooted in biblical teaching and Catholic stewardship. Scripture calls us to “bring the whole tithe into the storehouse” (Malachi 3:10), and the Church teaches us to be generous stewards of our resources for the sake of the Gospel.

Every gift makes a difference. Every gift is an act of worship.

Your financial support helps Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish and School thrive to put all hearts on a collision course with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We ask each family to prayerfully consider what sacrificial giving looks like for them — not out of obligation, but out of love.

Thank you for being part of our Sacred Heart family.
